Your Guide to the 2021 Porsche 718 BoxsterThe sports car field may look crowded, but the 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster with its well-balanced mid-engine layout is a clear winner. With three powerful engines and five trim models to choose from, it will give you the speed and performance you need while looking classic and stylish all at the same time.

Basics About the Porsche 718 Boxster

The 718 Boxster comes in five trim levels: the base model 718 Boxster, the Boxster T, the Boxster S, the Boxster GTS and the top of the line Boxster Spyder. The Boxster offers three engine choices: a 300 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four cylinder with 280 pound-feet of torque, a 350-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four cylinder with 309 pound-feet of torque, and a 394 horsepower 4.0-liter flat-six cylinder with 309 pound-feet of torque.

All models come with a responsive six-speed manual transmission, with the option of a seven-speed automatic. The Spyder is available with Porsche’s dual-clutch automatic transmission. Standard with all models is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower, 280 pound-feet of torque, and a manual transmission. Also standard are 18-inch Boxster alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon Headlights, and two-zone automatic climate control with an integrated active carbon filter.

Performance

All of the Boxster’s engines are mounted in the middle of the car giving each vehicle superior balance and handling, particularly on corners. Steering is responsive and satisfying. The base model’s 4 cylinder Turbo 2.0 liter delivers 300 horsepower with 280 pound-feet of torque and can go 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The Spyder’s 4.0 flat-six cylinder delivers 394 horsepower with 309 pound-feet of torque and can go 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds.
